What is Tom Holland’s IQ?
One Spider-Man page says no actor who played him has taken an IQ test, then names Holland the smartest of the three anyway.

Tom Hollandb. 1996 · Acting

No published IQ test result exists for Tom Holland, and no page we found gives the actor a score: the 250 that appears near his name is a fan-page estimate for the character Spider-Man. What is documented is a West End debut at twelve, a public-vote BAFTA Rising Star Award and a career from Billy Elliot to Nolan’s The Odyssey, with no degree or exam results on record, which support an estimated IQ of about 105–130.

What the estimate rests on
  • West End debut in Billy Elliot the Musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre in June 2008, at age 12, first as Michael and then, later that year, in the title role; his work on the show ended in 2010.
  • Leading parts that demand memory and stamina: Romeo in Jamie Lloyd’s West End Romeo and Juliet (May 11 to August 3, 2024) and Danny Sullivan in the Apple TV+ miniseries The Crowded Room (June 9, 2023), on which he is also an executive producer.
  • A long screen record: The Impossible (2012), which brought a National Board of Review Breakthrough Actor award; Peter Parker in seven Marvel Cinematic Universe films as of September 2026, from Captain America: Civil War (2016); and Telemachus in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey (July 17, 2026).
  • The EE Rising Star Award at the 70th British Academy Film Awards (February 12, 2017), which the sponsor’s release calls the only publicly voted award at the ceremony, so it reflects public support, not a measure of ability.
  • Schooling with no graded record: Donhead Preparatory School and Wimbledon College in Wimbledon, then the BRIT School in Croydon; no degree and no published exam results turned up. As NBC reported it, he has said he did not do particularly well at school but worked hard, and that his dyslexia is mostly about spelling.

Acting credits show memory, discipline and public appeal, not reasoning, and this record has no degree and no published exam results, so the range is deliberately wide: 25 points, against 10 to 15 for the other actors here. His dyslexia is not the reason for the low end: the NHS says dyslexia does not affect intelligence, and the range starts near average because the evidence is thin, not because of a diagnosis.

Background

Who Tom Holland is

Thomas Stanley Holland was born on June 1, 1996 in Kingston upon Thames, in south-west London. He attended Donhead Preparatory School in Wimbledon, then Wimbledon College, a Jesuit voluntary-aided secondary school and sixth form for boys aged 11 to 19, and the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Selhurst, Croydon, a secondary school specializing in the performing and creative arts. No university degree and no GCSE or A-level results appear in any source we opened. He has said publicly that he has dyslexia, diagnosed at age 7 according to NBC’s report of September 3, 2025, which quotes him on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast in July 2023: he called it “really just my spelling” and said he did not do particularly well at school but worked hard. The NHS says dyslexia mainly affects reading, writing and using numbers and does not affect intelligence; it can shape how a test is taken, which is a reason to read any score with care (see dyslexia and IQ), not a reason to expect a low one.

Holland began dancing at nine in a hip-hop class at Nifty Feet Dance School in Wimbledon. He made his West End debut in June 2008 at the Victoria Palace Theatre in Billy Elliot the Musical, first as Billy’s friend Michael and then, later that year, in the title role; his work on the show ended in 2010. He then played Lucas, a son in a family caught in the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, in J. A. Bayona’s The Impossible, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 9, 2012 and brought him the National Board of Review’s Breakthrough Actor award.

Holland first appeared as Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War (2016). As of September 2026, Wikipedia lists him as Spider-Man in seven Marvel Cinematic Universe films: that one, Spider-Man: Homecoming (July 7, 2017, directed by Jon Watts), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), Spider-Man: No Way Home (December 17, 2021) and Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 31, 2026, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton). In Homecoming, Peter is a student at the Midtown School of Science and Technology and Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark is his mentor. At the 70th British Academy Film Awards, held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on February 12, 2017, Holland won the EE Rising Star Award over Anya Taylor-Joy, Laia Costa, Lucas Hedges and Ruth Negga; the sponsor’s release describes it as the only publicly voted award presented at the ceremony.

Away from Spider-Man, Holland starred in the Russo brothers’ Cherry (limited release February 26, 2021; Apple TV+ March 12, 2021) and as Nathan Drake in Ruben Fleischer’s Uncharted (February 18, 2022). He played Danny Sullivan and is credited as an executive producer on the Apple TV+ miniseries The Crowded Room (June 9, 2023), and he returned to the stage as Romeo in Jamie Lloyd’s West End revival of Romeo and Juliet, which ran from May 11 to August 3, 2024 at the Duke of York’s Theatre. In 2026 he played Telemachus, son of Odysseus, in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which Universal released on July 17, 2026 with Matt Damon as Odysseus, and starred in Brand New Day two weeks later.

Where it came from

Why no figure circulates

Following a claim back to its first appearance is the part almost nobody does — and it is what most people are actually asking.

Tom Holland at the New York premiere of The Odyssey on July 14, 2026

What is Tom Holland’s IQ? No published IQ test result exists for him, and none of the pages we opened puts a number on the actor, so there is no Tom Holland IQ score to trace. The nearest thing is celebsiq.com’s “Spiderman IQ” page on the three actors who have played Spider-Man, which shows no author or date that we could see. It gives the character an estimated IQ of around 250 after what it calls a “character analysis”, names no comic issue or test, and says that none of the actors has ever taken an IQ test. It then declares Holland “the smartest” of the three, on the strength of how his Peter Parker handles technology: a ranking with no number and no measurement behind it (see where celebrity IQ numbers come from). We found no entry for him on sociosite.net, check-iq.org, celebrityiq.info, MyIQScores or Riot IQ.

A search for a Tom Holland Spider-Man IQ, or a Tom Holland Peter Parker IQ, returns the character’s number, and the character has no test either. Wikipedia’s account of the Marvel films’ Peter Parker lists a genius-level intellect among his abilities and places him at the fictional Midtown School of Science and Technology, but prints no IQ figure. This site’s Tony Stark profile, for the character Robert Downey Jr. plays as Peter’s mentor in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), shows how such fan numbers run: comicbasics.com sets Spider-Man at 250 and Stark at 210–235 without sourcing either, and CBR printed 270 for Stark in March 2019 before calling his IQ a mystery that August. The same swap follows actors around: our Benedict Cumberbatch profile traces the 180 that circulates for him to the geniuses he has played, and his Doctor Strange casts the spell that drives Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). Namesakes and look-alikes are not him: the historian Tom Holland (born 1968), the filmmaker Tom Holland (born 1943) and FaceIQ Labs, a face-analysis app whose homepage does not mention him and which has nothing to do with intelligence testing.

On a 15-point scale, 250 is ten standard deviations above the average of 100, a level no test has items to measure, so no test could report it (see the IQ ceiling effect). Even the top of the range on this page, 130, is two standard deviations up, roughly one person in 44 (see how rare a high IQ score is). Acting credits can show that someone learned long scripts, kept a demanding schedule and was chosen for the part. They cannot separate reasoning from rehearsal, coaching and fit for the role, because they record achievement, not aptitude (see achievement tests and IQ tests). The BAFTA Rising Star Award he won in 2017 shows the limit: the ceremony’s sponsor calls it the only publicly voted award there, so it reflects public support, not a measure of ability.

Any Tom Holland IQ level has to be inferred from a record that measures other things, and the record is thin: a West End debut at twelve, lead parts in a Shakespeare revival and in a miniseries he also executive-produced, and no degree or published exam results. The estimated IQ range here, 105–130, is 25 points wide where the other actor profiles carry 10 to 15, and its middle, about 117, sits below Emma Watson’s 125–140 (a Brown degree and a year at Oxford) and Matt Damon’s 120–135 (Harvard studies left twelve credits short of a degree, and a shared Oscar for the Good Will Hunting screenplay). It overlaps Ashton Kutcher’s 115–130. Its upper end, 130, is the level discussed in whether an IQ of 130 is genius, and nothing in Holland’s record settles that question either way. The error runs upward: the only number near his name is a character’s, 120 points above the top of the range.

InstitutionalWikidata, Q2023710

Description “English actor (born 1996)”, date of birth 1996-06-01, no date of death recorded; the English Wikipedia sitelink is “Tom Holland”. Confirms the Q-id is the actor, not the historian (born 1968) or the filmmaker (born 1943), whom Wikipedia’s Tom Holland disambiguation page lists as separate people.

InstitutionalNHS, “Dyslexia” (nhs.uk/conditions/dyslexia)

Describes dyslexia as a common learning difficulty that mainly affects reading, writing and using numbers, and says it does not affect intelligence. Used only to give context for his own statement; the page says nothing about Holland.

InstitutionalEE newsroom, “Tom Holland wins the EE Rising Star Award at the 2017 EE British Academy Awards” (February 13, 2017)

The ceremony sponsor’s release: Holland won the award, which it calls the only publicly voted award presented at the ceremony; nominees Laia Costa, Lucas Hedges, Ruth Negga and Anya Taylor-Joy. The release is dated a day after the ceremony; the February 12, 2017 date and the Royal Albert Hall come from Wikipedia’s 70th British Academy Film Awards page.

SecondaryNBC (NBC Los Angeles and NBC Philadelphia), “Tom Holland shares he was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia” (September 3, 2025)

Reports that Holland was diagnosed with dyslexia at age 7 and quotes what he said on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast in July 2023: his dyslexia is “really just my spelling”, he did not do particularly well at school, and he worked hard. We could not open the podcast or a transcript, so the wording rests on NBC. The article also covers a separate 2025 interview that this profile does not use.

Orientation and cross-checks: birth date and place; the three schools; the June 2008 Billy Elliot debut; the 2012 Toronto premiere and National Board of Review listing; the seven-film Marvel list and the Homecoming and No Way Home cast entries; release dates and directors of the later films; the May 11 to August 3, 2024 Romeo and Juliet run; the 70th BAFTA ceremony and the public vote; and the other people named Tom Holland. Status check: the actor’s article shows edits as late as September 28, 2026, none reporting a death, and Wikipedia’s September 2026 deaths list (through September 16) does not name him. None states an IQ.

Aggregatorcelebsiq.com, “Spiderman IQ” page on Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland

The only page we found that ties an IQ figure to his name: it puts Spider-Man, the character, at around 250 from a character analysis and unnamed reports, cites no comic issue or test, says none of the actors has taken an IQ test, and still calls Holland the smartest of the three. No author or date shown.

AggregatorIQ lists checked: sociosite.net (famous-person-iq), check-iq.org (actor ranking), celebrityiq.info (leaderboard), MyIQScores (famous-iq), Riot IQ (famous-people index)

No Tom Holland entry on any of them; sociosite.net’s only Holland is the musician Dexter Holland. Dedicated-page addresses we tried on iqtests.com, sociosite.net and celebrityiqs.com had no Tom Holland page.

The sources behind our estimate

The figures that circulate for Tom Holland, what we were able to confirm, and where the two diverge.

Most widely cited—

No page we opened gives Tom Holland himself an IQ score. The number that appears near his name is 250, printed on celebsiq.com’s “Spiderman IQ” page about the three actors who have played Spider-Man, as the estimated IQ of the character. Searches also turn up FaceIQ Labs, a face-analysis app unrelated to intelligence testing.

What we foundNo IQ for the actor, only one for the character

No Tom Holland IQ test result has been published, and no page we opened gives the actor a number. The celebsiq.com page says none of the actors who played Spider-Man has ever taken an IQ test, reaches its 250 through what it calls a “character analysis” and unnamed “reports”, and still calls Holland the smartest of the three. Wikipedia’s account of the Marvel films’ Peter Parker lists a genius-level intellect and prints no number, and none of the IQ lists we could read has an entry for Holland (see the sources). What can be checked is the record: three schools, a West End debut at twelve, a public-vote BAFTA Rising Star Award and a run of lead roles.

The 250 sits 120 points above the top of the range the record supports, and it is not his to begin with: it is printed for Spider-Man. On a 15-point scale it is ten standard deviations above the average of 100, a level no test has items to measure. As on most profiles here, the documented record points far lower than the number nearest his name.

Questions

Tom Holland — frequently asked

What is Tom Holland’s IQ?

No published IQ test result exists for Tom Holland, so there is no measured score. No page we opened gives the actor a number; the 250 printed near his name is an estimate for Spider-Man, the character. From his documented record, IQ Metrics estimates a wide range of about 105–130, which is an inference, not a test result.

Did Tom Holland take an IQ test?

There is no public record that he did. Neither Holland nor a school, testing body or psychologist has published a result, and none of the IQ lists we searched has an entry for him. What he has discussed publicly is dyslexia, which he has described as mostly a spelling difficulty; the NHS says it does not affect intelligence.

What is Tom Holland’s Spider-Man IQ, or Peter Parker’s IQ?

No source we opened gives Tom Holland’s Peter Parker a tested IQ. Wikipedia’s account of the Marvel films lists a genius-level intellect for the character and prints no number, while celebsiq.com puts Spider-Man at around 250 after a character analysis and admits no actor has taken a test. That figure describes a fictional character, not Tom Holland.

Is Tom Holland dyslexic, and does that affect his IQ?

Tom Holland has said publicly that he has dyslexia; on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast in July 2023 he described it as mostly a spelling difficulty. The NHS says dyslexia mainly affects reading, writing and using numbers and does not affect intelligence, so it is not a reason to expect a lower IQ score.

Is Tom Holland a genius?

There is no evidence for that label. The documented record is a West End stage career from age 12, a public-vote BAFTA Rising Star Award and major roles from Spider-Man to Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which show craft, memory and discipline but no measured reasoning score. Peter Parker is written as a genius; the actor has no published IQ test.

Did Tom Holland go to university?

No university degree is reported in any source we opened. He attended Donhead Preparatory School and Wimbledon College in Wimbledon, then the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon, and made his West End debut in 2008 at age 12. We found no published exam results, so his schooling cannot anchor an IQ estimate.

How does Tom Holland’s estimated IQ compare with Emma Watson’s?

IQ Metrics places Holland’s estimated IQ range of 105–130 below Emma Watson’s 125–140. Both began acting as children, but Watson’s record includes a Brown University degree and a year at Oxford, while Holland’s documented record has no degree or published exam results. Both ranges are inferences from achievement, not IQ test results.

How does my IQ compare with Tom Holland?

You can find out in about fifteen minutes. The IQ Metrics assessment is 30 questions, scored on the same 100-mean scale used throughout this page, so your result and the estimate above are at least expressed in the same units — one measured, one inferred. Once you have a number, the leaderboard shows where it would sit, and how we score and norm it explains the benchmarking.

Where does this estimate come from?

From the documented record rather than a test — the method is named above and set out in full under how we read a number. Compare it against the other actors profiles, starting with Natalie Portman.
