No Drake IQ test result has ever been published. The 142 quoted most often is credited to a celebrity-stats site, cites no test, and is also the figure Wikipedia gives the fictional Tim Drake. His documented record supports only a wide estimated IQ, roughly 115–130.

Chart records, a label and an apparel line measure audience behavior, teamwork and commercial timing more than cognitive ability, lyrics are not a test either, and the only graded marks found are a school course’s 97% and 88%, which are achievement scores rather than an IQ. The band matches Kanye West’s 115–130 and sits below Lady Gaga’s 120–135, whose record includes a gifted-program placement that no source shows for Drake.

Aubrey Drake Graham was born on October 24, 1986 in Toronto. He was fourteen when Degrassi: The Next Generation, the Canadian teen drama, premiered on October 14, 2001 with him as Jimmy Brooks, a basketball star; Wikipedia lists him as a regular for its first seven seasons and a guest in the eighth, with his run dated 2001–2008. The Globe and Mail reported in 2012 that he had left Forest Hill Collegiate Institute at fifteen to play a student on television. Wikipedia’s entry for Vaughan Road Academy lists him among alumni of that school’s Interact program, whose flexible schedules were built around students’ auditions, rehearsals and performances.
He went back to finish. In August 2012 Drake told Now magazine that he had spent his summer completing his final course, and on October 19 the Globe and Mail reported that he had graduated at twenty-five, eleven years after leaving. The Associated Press quoted him telling the crowd at Tyra Banks’ first Flawsome Ball, “I got my high school diploma”, and reported that he had earned 97% on his final exam and 88% in his last class through work with a private tutor. It is a small, precise record: one school course, one final exam, two marks.
The music came in stages. He released the mixtapes Room for Improvement (2006) and Comeback Season (2007), then So Far Gone in February 2009, which earned two Grammy nominations. His debut album Thank Me Later (June 15, 2010) entered the Billboard 200 at number one with 447,000 first-week copies, and Take Care (November 15, 2011) won Best Rap Album at the 2013 Grammy Awards, the first of five; GRAMMY.com’s artist page lists five wins from 56 nominations. In September 2012 he shared BMI’s Urban Songwriter of the Year award with Lil Wayne, reported as his second consecutive title, and in May 2021 Billboard named him its Artist of the Decade for the 2010s.

Where the 142 figure came from
Following a claim back to its first appearance is the part almost nobody does — and it is what most people are actually asking.
The Drake IQ score most often given is 142, and the trail behind that number is short. scientific.place states “Drake’s IQ is estimated to be 142” and credits the celebrity-stats site Height of Celebrities through a web-archive link stamped May 8, 2024; realiqtestonline.com writes that he “reportedly” has an IQ score of 142. Neither names a test, an examiner or a date. On the usual 15-point scale, 142 sits 2.8 standard deviations above the mean, roughly one person in 390 if scores follow a normal curve (how rare a high IQ score is). A score around 140 is exactly the kind of claim that needs an instrument behind it, and this one has none.
Searching “Drake IQ” also pulls in other Drakes. Wikipedia’s article on Tim Drake, the third Robin in DC Comics, says he is “considered a genius with an IQ of 142” — the same number that sits beside the rapper on scientific.place and realiqtestonline.com. Nothing found links the two, and the one rapper page that names a source names a celebrity-stats site, not a comic, so this is a coincidence worth flagging rather than a proven mix-up. Nathan Drake, the hero of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted games, is fictional too, and the Wikipedia article read for this page gives him no IQ figure. Other pages are visitors’ quiz results filed under the username Drake: brght.org’s “Drake has an IQ of 117” and “Drake has an IQ of 122” pages and an IQ Haven “Drake IQ Report” of 106 show scores on those sites’ own quizzes and never mention the musician.
The remaining numbers are averages and guesses. check-iq.org’s 120 is the mean of three inputs the site itself marks low confidence: scientific.place’s 142, a 100 it credits to Real IQ, and a 118 taken from a Kanye West fan forum. celebsiq.com gives a band of 90–110 and concedes that Drake never revealed a score. A Drake IQ test did get a headline: on August 24, 2022 iHeartMedia station sites posted “See Drake’s IQ Test Results Here”, a post that says “This is the IQ test Drake took”, links to 123test.com’s culture-fair quiz and shows the results only as an embedded image; the only image that could be retrieved from the page was iHeart’s gray placeholder logo, with no score in it. What Drake’s record does contain is a school mark. He left Forest Hill Collegiate Institute in Toronto at fifteen to act, and in October 2012, at twenty-five, announced that he had graduated high school, with 97% on the final exam and 88% in the course. That is an achievement test, not an IQ test, but it is the only graded result found, and any statement about Drake’s IQ level has to start from it rather than from a 142 nobody measured. The comparisons on this site are close. Kanye West’s page rests on a self-reported 133, and no such figure from Drake has surfaced; Eminem left school at seventeen without graduating, where Drake left at fifteen and graduated at twenty-five; and Michael Jackson was another performer whose schooling gave way to work and who ended with a high-school diploma.
