What is Billie Eilish’s IQ?
Every Billie Eilish IQ score online is unsourced; the numbers that can be checked are a number-one album at 17, five Grammys in one night at 18 and two Oscars by 22.

No published IQ test result exists for Billie Eilish: the 117, 140 and 160 that circulate come from celebrity-IQ pages that name no test, examiner or date. Her documented record — ten Grammys, two Oscars and a number-one debut album co-written with her brother Finneas — supports an estimated IQ level of roughly 120–135, not a verified score.
Billie Eilish’s estimated IQ
- Her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? (March 29, 2019), largely written with her brother Finneas O’Connell and recorded in his bedroom studio in Highland Park, Los Angeles, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 dated April 13, 2019, making her, at 17, the first artist born in the 21st century to top that chart.
- At the 62nd Grammy Awards on January 26, 2020, aged 18, she won Record of the Year and Song of the Year (“Bad Guy”), Album of the Year, Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album: the first sweep of the four top awards since Christopher Cross in 1981, per the Associated Press, and the youngest ever, per the Recording Academy.
- She shared two Academy Awards for Best Original Song with Finneas, for “No Time to Die” (94th Academy Awards, March 27, 2022) and “What Was I Made For?” (96th, March 10, 2024), each credited by the Academy to the two of them as music and lyric writers; at 22 she became the youngest two-time Oscar winner (TIME, March 11, 2024).
- Ten Grammys from 34 nominations as of the 68th ceremony on February 1, 2026 (Recording Academy), including Song of the Year for “Wildflower,” her third with Finneas after “Bad Guy” (2020) and “What Was I Made For?” (2024), which Wikipedia lists as the most wins in that category for any songwriters.
No IQ, SAT, ACT or school-grade result has been published for her, and as a homeschooled artist she has no school record to check against. Her prize-winning songs are written and produced with her brother, so the record cannot isolate her share, and songwriting awards reward craft and audience reception more than reasoning ability, which is why the range is a loose inference that could miss in either direction.

What an IQ of 120–135 actually means
Set the claim aside for a moment. If someone genuinely scored in this range, here is what that would represent.
Average is 100 by construction, and about two-thirds of people fall between 85 and 115. Take the test to place your own score on this scale.
| Score range | Classification | Share of people | What it indicates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 85 – 114 | Average | ~68% | The range most people fall into. |
| 115 – 129 | Above average | ~13.6% | Roughly one person in seven. |
| 130 – 144 | Gifted | ~2% | The threshold most high-IQ societies use. |
| Above 144 | Highly gifted | ~0.1% | Figures above this range are extrapolated from the curve rather than measured. |
Percentages are approximate and describe a normal distribution. The same number means different things on tests with different standard deviations.
Thirty questions gives you a measured position on this exact scale — your score, your percentile and the ability breakdown behind it.

Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell was born on December 18, 2001, in Los Angeles. She and her older brother, Finneas O’Connell, were homeschooled by their parents, so no school rank, transcript or entrance-exam result appears in the sources checked (see whether school raises IQ). Wikipedia says she joined the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus at eight and, in 2015, at 13, began writing and recording with Finneas, who had already been writing and producing for several years. “Ocean Eyes,” which Finneas wrote, mixed and produced and passed to her when her dance teacher, Fred Diaz, asked for a song to choreograph, went onto SoundCloud on November 18, 2015 and was released as a single by Darkroom and Interscope Records on November 18, 2016. Her debut EP, Don’t Smile at Me, followed on August 11, 2017 and reached number 14 on the Billboard 200.
Her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, came out on March 29, 2019 through Darkroom and Interscope in the United States and Polydor in the United Kingdom. She largely wrote it with Finneas, who produced it in his small bedroom studio in Highland Park, Los Angeles. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 dated April 13, 2019 with 313,000 album-equivalent units. At the 62nd Grammy Awards on January 26, 2020, aged 18, she won Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Bad Guy,” Album of the Year, Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album; the Associated Press called it the first sweep of the four top awards since Christopher Cross in 1981, Wikipedia adds that she was the first woman to do it, and the Recording Academy calls her the youngest artist ever to manage it.
Eilish and Finneas wrote “No Time to Die,” the theme of the 2021 James Bond film, which won the Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 63rd ceremony on March 14, 2021, where “Everything I Wanted” also won Record of the Year, and the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 94th Academy Awards on March 27, 2022. The pair won the same Oscar again on March 10, 2024 for “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie, which had already taken Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 66th Grammys on February 4, 2024; the second Oscar, at 22, made her the youngest two-time Oscar winner, TIME and the Recording Academy reported. On February 1, 2026 the 68th Grammys gave Song of the Year to “Wildflower,” from Hit Me Hard and Soft (May 17, 2024): her third in that category with Finneas after 2020 and 2024, and her tenth Grammy from 34 nominations.
According to Wikipedia, Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour ran for 106 concerts, from September 29, 2024 in Quebec City to November 23, 2025 in San Francisco. Its concert film, Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), which film databases credit to her and James Cameron as directors and producers and which was recorded at Co-op Live in Manchester in July 2025, opened in theaters through Paramount Pictures on May 8, 2026. She is also the lead, Esther Greenwood, in her feature-film debut, writer-director Sarah Polley’s adaptation of Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar for Focus Features, which industry reports say began filming in Toronto in late June and wrapped production on September 8, 2026.

Where the 117–160 figure came from
Following a claim back to its first appearance is the part almost nobody does — and it is what most people are actually asking.

Search “Billie Eilish IQ” or “Billie Eilish IQ score” and the pages that offer a number do not agree. iqcertificate.org lists her at 117 in a list of famous people that it describes as based on rumor and hearsay. scientific.place gives 140, labels it an estimate and credits Height of Celebrities through a web-archive link stamped May 8, 2024. celebsiq.com gives 160 with no source, calling her highly intelligent. realiqtestonline.com offers a range instead of a figure, 115 to 140, attributed to fans’ speculation, while realiqtest.org (March 20, 2024) prints no number at all. That is four pages with four different answers, none with a test behind it, and a fifth that declines to answer; for the general pattern, see where celebrity IQ numbers come from. The Billie Eilish IQ estimate on this page is therefore built from what can be checked instead: her releases, awards and credits.
The phrase “Billie Eilish IQ test” mostly leads to games, not assessments. A JeopardyLabs board titled “Billie Eilish IQ Test 2” asks fans to name songs from Hit Me Hard and Soft and how many Oscars she won. The quiz is plainly a trivia game; it is not a normed, standardized test, and no report of her taking one has surfaced. Whether a listener’s taste in music says anything about intelligence is a separate question (see music taste and IQ).
Each circulating figure also implies something specific. On the standard 15-point scale (see why the standard deviation matters), 117 is about the 87th percentile, 140 is about 1 person in 260 and 160 is four standard deviations out, about 1 person in 31,500, a region few tests are built to measure (see the IQ ceiling effect), and none of the pages says which test could have produced the figure it prints. The 115–140 range does not carry the conclusion realiqtestonline.com draws from it either: its floor is the 84th percentile, yet the page goes on to say it is safe to assume she is gifted. Where a page gives a reason at all, it is an inference from her success, such as her Grammy nominations or lyrics written at 17. This profile starts from the same success but says how the inference is made and where it is weak.
The sourced record supports a lower range than the highest figures: 120–135, the 91st to 99th percentile on the standard scale, level with Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga, whose estimates on this site also rest on achievement rather than a test, and below Beyoncé, whose record spans more than two decades, and Kim Namjoon, whose range also rests on a university degree, both at 130–145. Lady Gaga is the nearest like-for-like comparison: she shared the Academy Award for Best Original Song for “Shallow” at the 91st ceremony on February 24, 2019 with three co-writers, just as Eilish shared hers with one, and a joint credit says less about one writer’s individual contribution than a solo credit would. A score around 125, inside the range, is what an IQ of 125 means in practice: clearly above average and well short of a genius label, and creative prizes are only a loose guide to measured ability (see IQ and creativity).
How we read a number →Checked the pages that state a figure (scientific.place, celebsiq.com, iqcertificate.org, realiqtestonline.com), the one that declines to (realiqtest.org), a JeopardyLabs fan quiz with “IQ Test” in its title, English Wikipedia’s article on her (which contains no IQ, degree or test-score statement) and the Recording Academy’s artist page. None reports a test she took, an examiner, a date or a score report.
They give 140, 160 and 117. scientific.place labels 140 an estimate and credits Height of Celebrities through a web-archive link stamped May 8, 2024 (that page could not be opened). celebsiq.com states 160 with no source, date or caveat. iqcertificate.org lists 117 in a list it describes as based on rumor and hearsay. None names a test.
realiqtestonline.com says she has never disclosed a score and gives a fan-speculated 115–140 range, then treats it as gifted. realiqtest.org prints no figure and says any exact number is speculation without a named test, date and primary source. JeopardyLabs is a fan trivia game about her albums and awards, not an intelligence test.
Stats header shows 10 wins and 34 nominations as of September 2026. The biography calls her the youngest artist ever to sweep the Big Four in one night, at 18, at the 2020 ceremony, and says she began writing and recording at home with her brother and primary collaborator, Finneas O’Connell.
Best Original Song: “Shallow” (Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, Andrew Wyatt); “No Time To Die” and “What Was I Made For?” (each credited to Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell as music and lyric writers).
AP: the January 26, 2020 sweep at 18 (Record, Song and Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album), the first sweep of the four top awards since Christopher Cross in 1981. Mix: the album recorded in Finneas’s bedroom studio, Finneas as co-writer and producer, and her status as the first artist born in the 21st century with a Billboard 200 number one.
Reports that the two were homeschooled by their parents in Los Angeles and gives her age at the Grammys as 18. Quotes her 2019 Pitchfork interview and her brother’s 2014 Your Teen Media interview about being homeschooled.
TIME and GRAMMY.com: the second Oscar, on March 10, 2024, made her the youngest two-time Oscar winner, at 22. Gulf News: the 68th Grammys on February 1, 2026 at Crypto.com Arena, Song of the Year for “Wildflower,” her third with Finneas and her tenth Grammy overall.
The film databases list James Cameron and Billie Eilish as directors and producers and a wide release on May 8, 2026 through Paramount Pictures; the official site gives the same date. World of Reel says The Bell Jar had just started filming in Toronto, with Eilish as Esther Greenwood in her acting debut for Focus Features. ComingSoon reports the cast and that production wrapped on September 8, 2026.

The sources behind our estimate
The figures that circulate for Billie Eilish, what we were able to confirm, and where the two diverge.
The figures given where “Billie Eilish IQ score” is searched run from 117 to 160: 117 on iqcertificate.org, 140 on scientific.place, 160 on celebsiq.com, plus a guessed range of 115–140 on realiqtestonline.com. Each arrives without a named test, examiner or date.
No published IQ test result for Billie Eilish exists. scientific.place prints 140 as an estimate and credits Height of Celebrities through a web-archive link stamped May 8, 2024 (that page could not be opened, so the origin of 140 is unverified). celebsiq.com states 160 flatly, calls her highly intelligent and gives no source, date or caveat. iqcertificate.org lists her at 117 in a list it describes as based on rumor and hearsay. realiqtestonline.com says she has never disclosed a score, reports that fans’ speculation puts it between 115 and 140, and then calls it safe to assume she is gifted. realiqtest.org (March 20, 2024) prints no number and says any exact figure is speculation without a named test, date and primary source. A JeopardyLabs board titled “Billie Eilish IQ Test 2” is a fan trivia game about her albums and awards.
The figures that circulate sit 43 points apart, from 117 (about the 87th percentile) to 160 (about 1 person in 31,500), and none cites a measurement, which is what guessing looks like: pages repeating one real score would print one number. The range on this page, 120–135, sits above the 117 and below the 140 and 160, so the documented record supports a lower level than the higher figures, as it does for most profiles on this site.

Billie Eilish — frequently asked
What is Billie Eilish’s IQ?
No IQ test result for Billie Eilish has been published, so her IQ score is not publicly known. The figures online, 117, 140 and 160, name no test. An estimated IQ level inferred from her documented record of ten Grammys, two Oscars and a number-one debut album is roughly 120–135.
Did Billie Eilish ever take an IQ test?
No record of one has surfaced. None of the pages checked names a test she sat, an examiner or a date, and one of the sites that guesses at her IQ says she has never disclosed a score. Any figure attached to her name is therefore an estimate or a guess, not a result.
Where do the 117, 140 and 160 IQ scores for Billie Eilish come from?
They come from celebrity-IQ pages, not from testing. iqcertificate.org lists 117 in a list it describes as rumor and hearsay, scientific.place gives 140 as an estimate credited to Height of Celebrities, and celebsiq.com states 160 with no source. None names a test, examiner or date.
Is Billie Eilish a genius?
Nothing published measures that. Her documented record is a number-one debut album at 17, five Grammys in one night at 18, and ten Grammys and two Oscars by 24, most of it written with her brother Finneas. That shows sustained musical skill, not a genius-level score; this site’s estimate is roughly 120–135.
Is the “Billie Eilish IQ test” a real IQ test?
No. Pages with that name are fan trivia games, such as a JeopardyLabs quiz about her albums and awards. A real IQ test is a standardized, normed assessment, and none has been published with her name on it.
Was Billie Eilish homeschooled?
Yes. She and her brother Finneas were homeschooled by their parents in Los Angeles, according to Reason’s January 28, 2020 report and Wikipedia. No diploma, degree, transcript or entrance-exam score has been reported in the sources checked, so there is no school record to anchor an estimate of her IQ level.
How does Billie Eilish’s estimated IQ level compare with Taylor Swift’s and Lady Gaga’s?
This site’s estimate for Billie Eilish, 120–135, equals Taylor Swift’s and Lady Gaga’s 120–135 and sits below Beyoncé’s 130–145. All are inferred from achievement rather than test scores, and Eilish’s record is the shortest of the group, with her prize-winning songs written jointly with her brother.
How many Grammys and Oscars has Billie Eilish won?
As of September 2026, Billie Eilish has won 10 Grammy Awards from 34 nominations, most recently Song of the Year for “Wildflower” at the 68th ceremony on February 1, 2026, and two Academy Awards for Best Original Song, for “No Time to Die” (2022 ceremony) and “What Was I Made For?” (2024 ceremony).
